Luco Patson Mwelange is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the School of Public Health and Social Sciences, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), United Republic of Tanzania. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Sciences and a Master’s in Environmental and Occupational Health from MUHAS. Mwelange serves as the Assistant Coordinator for the Global Health course in collaboration with the Karolinska Institute. Also work as project coordinator at the Dar es Salaam Urban Cohort Study (DUCS). Mwelange has contributed to the development of key national guidelines, such as the National Environmental Health, Hygiene, and Sanitation Strategy (2020–2026) and the National WASH Guidelines for Healthcare Facilities and Transport Hubs, aimed at tackling water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) challenges in the context of climate change. National Guidelines for provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Services in emergencies. He was also a national stakeholder in the review of the Health National Adaptation Plan to Climate. His primary research interests include occupational health, climate change and its impacts on health and WASH.
